To Portland and Beyond
The time has come. A newsletter. Look forward to monthly roommate updates, outdoor adventures, pretty pictures and more fun stuff. But mostly pictures - likely a mix of film and iPhone 6.

Amy + Dale Dyer
Wow my best friend got married. It was such a happy day! I love them more than almost anyone in the whole world. Amy, you are my better half. Dale, you are a freaking unicorn. I love how much you love each other and other people. Thank you both for letting me be apart of such a magical weekend.
It was so good to be back in Austin for a little bit. I got to see so many friends and feel like I was somewhat caught up on everyone's lives. My family came up on Sunday and we had a big brunch with tons of friends and the whole fam. I left the weekend feeling so loved and thankful for time with my people. |

The boys are back in town
We had a few visitors the other weekend. Grady, Jackson, Sam, and Trey all came up to hang with Carter and I and meet some of our new friends up here. We had way too much fun. I love touring people around. It is almost always the exact same agenda, but it hasn't gotten old yet... We saw waterfalls at the Gorge, shopped around downtown Portland, and drove out to the coast despite the storms. These guys keep always make life more of an adventure.

These are my favorite places in Portland
Multnomah Falls. We drive down the old Pacific coast highway and see a bunch of waterfalls. This is one of my favorite things to show people because it is unlike anything I have ever seen (Texas probs). There are some fun hikes and easy trails so it's always perfect. I love it the most when it's raining because the fog rolls through and makes me feel like I'm in a fairy tale.
Cannon Beach. This is the beach with that giant rock that never gets old. The beach here is not exactly warm and summery... It is generally colder and somewhat cloudy, but altogether beautiful in it's own way. I love getting to go out there 1) because the ocean always reminds me of how small I am and 2) because the town there is quaint and sweet and easy and makes everything move a little slower.
Downtown. There are around 5000 amazing coffee shops in downtown Portland. There are also an unimaginable amount of shops with handmade, organic, craftsman, tailored, vintage, leather items that I can never afford but LOVE TO LOOK AT (I know sooooo basic). Powell's Books is right there too. I hear it's the largest book store in America. The buildings are beautiful, the people are nice, the city is clean... what more could you really ask for?
Laurelhurst Park. I don't know how to describe this place in words. Pictures won't really do it justice either. Everything is green. Trees are giant and beautiful. Sometimes the sun is shining. This is such a happy place!

I left my heart in San Francisco... Again
I got to go to my favorite city with one of my new favorite people, Laura Grace. We celebrated her birthday, skipped around SF, and saw old friends. We saw Bon Iver on Thursday. We explored new places and old. We got to stay with my girl Kari and eat good food and drink good drinks. Saturday we "surfed" and basically gave our bodies to the waves to be beat down over and over and over again. I would love to say that we eventually got up and had a successful run, but we did not. It was a mega fail, but so worth the laughs and healthy dose of fear. I am so thankful for friends in SF for always making me feel like I can pick up where I left off.
