Snow Globe
The month of December was a bit of a blur. 23 is a strange age for the holidays because we are now adults. But we are also still very much young and rhythmless. Is rhythmless a word? Anyways, I am happy to say that I made it out alive. After a lot of holiday parties and sugar out the wazoo, I am pleased to knock on the door of 2017. Most of the month was spent trying to keep my head above water. That sounds depressing but it's true and the truth is sometimes depressing. I left Portland again temporarily for the great state of Texas for the Holidays.
Once again I did a tour of Texas. This time I started in Midland, hitched a ride with my brother to Austin (thanks a heap Sam), next headed to the beautiful Crockett, Texas for New Years at the lake, and back to Austin for the grand finale. Midland. I got to hang out with my family for a whole week! Sam seems to always take over the guest room every time we are home so I get to snuggle with Mia and watch episodes of the OA til we fall asleep. My family spent a lot of time Christmas shopping, playing darts, watching movies, and drinking wine. This year we did secret Santa where we spent 50 bucks on the family member that we drew out of a hat. I chose my dad and got him a massage. Mia chose me and literally just gave me $50. I then used that to pay my overdue parking ticket. On Christmas Eve Mia set up our childhood tree house with blankets and pillows for a kid's sleepover. It was my favorite part of my time at home! |
New Years Eve
Austin was a lovely 70 degrees while I was in town. Again I got to see my friends and eat my favorite food. I love getting to go back there.
New Years was spent at Emily's lake house in Crockett, Texas. We had so much fun! We bought fireworks and sat by the fire and drank too much Mexican beer. It was my favorite New Years so far, I am so thankful for the awesome people I got to spend it with. I got to be back in Austin for another day to see more freinds and eat more great food. Shout out to Veracruz Al Natural for making all my taco dreams come true. Another shout out to Mr. Graders for taking me to the airport at 4am for the second time in a row, what a servant. |

My Current Status
Bible in a Year. A few college friends and I are reading through the Bible in 1 year. We are using this awesome app called Read Scripture that encorporates videos from The Bible Project (where I work). You should download it and check it out!
Music. This is my current Spotify playlist I am working on. This is 2017. Cookbook. For years I have wanted to make a cookbook for my friends and potentially publish it. I am rounding up a whole bunch of good recipies and taking film pictures on the process of each one. This is a huge project, but something I really want to do in 2017. If you have any suggestions or encouraging words send them my way! Shout Out. Thank you @katie ricks for sending me a package of amazing goodies and memories. You are my favorite. Not that my love in conditional but..... New Years Resolutions. I've never been good at these. I don't know many people who are. But I made a few because I guess there's no harm in trying.
